About Me

I have been taking photographs for as long as I can remember, but five years ago I was able to turn this passion into a full-time business. In that time, I have photographed over 200 weddings and a much greater number of portraits. I love what I do - capturing clients' most important life events, and freezing those moments in compelling still images. As a former nanny of over eight years, a wife, and a new Mom, I bring experience, familiarity (and empathy) to baby and pregnancy photo shoots, as well as weddings. I have also enjoyed taking photographs for The Humane Society for Seattle/King County, an organization I feel strongly about, having adopted our dog from there ourselves.

I have a background in drama and playwriting in which I created characters (my play "Burt (or When I Was Five I Killed Myself") was produced in 2001 by Theatre Babylon and published by Rain City Projects), and in marketing research, in which I studied people. With photography, I draw upon these influences and strive to capture the wonderful range of emotions that people experience, and their relationships with each other.

I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), the Seattle Professional Photographers Association (SPPA), and The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). Print awards include Best Baby/Child Portrait for "Spit Happens" and Judge's Choice Award for the wedding candid "At Last" (Seattle Professional Photographer's Assocation, 2005). I was recently named a Red Tricycle Favorite (www.red-tri.com) and a Favorite Photographer for Family Photos by readers of ParentMap magazine (2005). I have received five out of five stars in The Lila Guide: Baby-Friendly Seattle Area. Numerous commissioned weddings have been published in The Knot Weddings magazine, and my baby and family images have been featured in national magazines such as Your Preemie and Plum.

I live on the Eastside of a great city (Seattle) with my husband William, our son Hayden (born May 17, 2004) and our daughter Sylvia (born November 23, 2006).
